Pssst... It's Out!

If you know me, in real life or online, you know I've been working on a story about the Texas Water Safari — specifically, the Jones family and their top-fifteen campaign this year — for months.

I started interviews in January, followed the Joneses downriver for the race itself in June, and have been writing the story since.

Tomorrow, I'm finally releasing part one of three out into the world. I feel equal parts excited and like I'm going to puke, if we're being honest; but mostly, I'm so grateful the Joneses and the Safari community at large let me tell their story.

You know what else I'm grateful for? The people who read this blog faithfully, and who've hung in there while I've been largely absent, holed up writing this story. As a thank-you to you, I'm letting you in on a secret: the story is already live. Those of you who subscribe to my posts via email will be the very first to know about it. (It's only fair, really.)

I hope you enjoy the story as much as I've enjoyed reporting and writing it. Keep an eye out for parts two and three, coming the next couple of Mondays!
